Malvern focuses on protein characterization at Biophysical Society meeting

At: Malvern Booth: #624

Experts in analytical instrumentation from Malvern Instruments will focus on protein applications at the 54th Annual Meeting of the Biophysical Society (San Francisco, California, 20-24 February 2010). On show will be Viscotek SEC systems and Malvern's Zetasizer family of light scattering solutions including the world leading Zetasizer Nano, the new Zetasizer APS which automates measurements in industry standard 96- or 384-well plates, and the Zetasizer Micro V, dedicated to the size and molecular weight measurement of proteins. Conference participants will have the opportunity to join Malvern Instruments’ protein specialists at the company’s exhibition booth (#624) to view and discuss the latest developments.

Attracting more than 6000 international scientists from academia, government and industry, this year’s Biophysical Society meeting includes a National Lecture given by Roger Tsien, 2008 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry.

Advanced chromatography solutions (SEC), now extend Malvern’s technologies for protein molecular weight, size and aggregation measurements. These systems productively complement dynamic light scattering techniques which provide a non-invasive, fast, accurate and simple approach for protein characterization, ideal for, for example, the optimization of protein crystallization conditions.
